Thoughts on life, fashion, fabulousness, and (oh yeah) dressing up from a full-time male who's a part-time female

I’ve been wondering…

A confession to make:  I don’t normally dress up on weeknights.  Yeah, it’s true, most of my dress-up time is done on the weekend.  I guess it’s a mindset of, “Hey, it’s a weeknight and I gotta get up early tomorrow morning because tomorrow is a pretty big day.”  I imagine most of you out there — crossdressers or otherwise — who think the same way.

That being said, however… I came across information about a photo event next Wednesday night here in Madison.  It’s not a crossdresser-centric event, although it is LGBTQ-centric.  Yes, it’s next Wednesday.  Yes, it’s a weeknight.  And it’s almost literally after I get off from work.  And it might be hot and sticky and sweltering and maybe even stormy (it’s an outdoor event from what I understand).

But still… I am tempted to dress up and go.  Yeah, that’s right, I’m curious about dressing up as Allison and go to this event.  I’m kind of nervous about it.  No, it’s not an “I’m nervous because I’m awkward when dressing up in public” kind of nervous, but rather an “It’s a weeknight and I’m gonna be doggone tired when I get off from work and who knows how preoccupied I’ll be then” kind of nervous.

I haven’t made any firm decision on whether I’ll go.  But I have a feeling that if I do, Allison will be warmly accepted, even if I might be the only crossdresser there.

Full-time middle-aged male. Long-time overworked office drone. Part-time female fashion plate. Amateur fashionista (emphasis on "amateur"). Admirer and supporter of those who are fashionable, fabulous, and friendly. A little bit silly. Absolutely nowhere near perverted. I am a real human being, just like you. Able to share thoughts about my life experiences, fashion sense, and the world at large despite middling grades in high school creative writing class (but at least I do look cute when I'm writing, so that has to count for something).

  1. And if Allison doesn’t attend she will never know how good that acceptance would have felt.
I have been a lot sorrier in life for the things I didn’t do than for those I did.
    Enjoy.
