So, have you taken a gander at my Flickr portfolio? [gasps in shock] You mean you haven’t? Well, earlier this month, I did add a few more photos to the gallery, pictures that I took in relation to my recent post about secrets (please check out that post if you can; I really enjoyed writing it), and I want to use this post to highlight a couple of photos from that shoot. To start off, I took a sexy approach to the “secret” photo portion of the post and put on a burgundy red lingerie item.
Perhaps it’s due to my sitting pose that the first thing you see is the lacy, negligee-like wrap round my arms and shoulders. That wrap also includes a satiny ribbon that ties in front to keep things together. It also hides the silky polyester onesie adorned in sparkly beads and studs that I’m wearing underneath. It’s too bad that you can’t see that part of the outfit, but it’s just as well: This evening wear is actually one size too small for me, and the snaps in the crotch area that keeps the ends together (*ahem*) down there have come apart. Still, I’ve been in love with it since I found it at a Goodwill location in Downtown Madison several years ago, and it’s very alluring to wear (the tag says “Victoria’s Secret,” after all). Of course, you’ve probably already guessed that.
A couple of things to add: The gloves came separate from the lingerie. I want to recall I found this pair at an alternative clothing store a few years ago (I believe it was Amsterdam, a Madison retailer that had a couple of brick-and-mortar locations and has now since concentrated on online sales and the occasional quick special-occasion set-up at local fairs). These gloves help create the secret, seductive glance I give to the camera. (*shhh* “This is our little secret, okay?” *wink*) Secondly, I just upgraded to Windows 10, and their new default photo app features some new editing features that can make things, uh, really heat up. That’s how I was able to really intensify the colors in the above photo, making the lingerie more hot red than the burgundy red it is in reality; the color blast creates a sense of things getting really seductive, if you know what I mean.
For the “femme fatale” portion of my blog post, I went from scantily dressed and seductive to elegantly dressed and… just as seductive? Perhaps even more so?
Yes, this is indeed a two-piece outfit, featuring a sleek, lacy dress and matching jacket. I also found these at a thrift store a few years ago (a place called Savers, to be exact), and just as with the lingerie shown at the top, I fell in love with this outfit even though it is a size or two too small (the tag size size 7/8, but it feels more like the lower number in that equation).
If you have the urge to say this outfit is dramatic, I’m way ahead of you on that, but let’s reserve a few sentences for the material here if we can. Yes, there is lace all around the dress; it’s elegant enough that even the black lining behind it doesn’t take away from the drama. The crop jacket has black lace and lining as well, but it has accents in black cross ribbons and beads all around it. You may be able to notice that a corner or two of ribbon is sticking out, but that’s an imperfection that can be tucked away or fixed with a minor touch-up or two.
I added to the drama with this flowing red wig; it’s a fall, actually, the same one as can be found in this pic from last year. I think red, flowing locks really add to the seductively dangerous look I was aiming for. The leather/vinyl gloves are the same ones I featured in a set of photos back in May (and blogged about here as well as here), while the sunglasses suggest to the viewer, “gee, what secret is she hiding behind those shades?”
I have just a few more photos from this session in my 2015 album on Flickr. There are only a handful of photos, though; they may not be a lot but they do leave an impression in my opinion.
